NORTH MIAMI

JUDGE ORDERS MAN'S DEPORTATION

An immigration judge on Wednesday ordered the deportation to Haiti of a North 
Miami man who claims to be a U.S. citizen.

Judge Kevin McHugh said Frantzy Odige, 23, can be deported because he is a 
Haitian national and was convicted of sexual assault on a minor -- a deportable 
offense for foreign nationals.

André Pierre, Odige's attorney, said he will appeal the ruling. Odige claims to 
have derived automatic citizenship from his adoptive parents who are 
naturalized U.S. citizens.

However, at a March 1 hearing, Judge McHugh found Odige not to be a U.S. 
citizen and ordered him to stand trial for deportation.
