28230: Georges (reply) RE : 28220: McCalla (announce) In the Jean Dominique Matter, Justice Awaits Vigorous Leadership (fwd)

From: jacques georges <jacquessoleil@yahoo.ca>

Whenever I hear the name of Jean Dominique being
uttered, I find myself under duress to give in to the
temptation to climb backwards the hills of time.

All of us, Haitians, who were of age would remember
the brilliant report on Apollo 11 that he, Jean, along
with Bob Lemoine, brought to us. Although in
Port-au-Prince, Bob and Jean's transmission was so
vivid that we almost felt that we had a better seat
than even those who were actually on site.

Alas, alas, alas! Jean has survived the most brutal,
the most bloodthirsty dictatorships in his homeland to
finally fall under a regime that he had the misfortune
of serving...

I salute Mr. McCalla's initiative. However, I take the
liberty to say: unless the trial that he speaks about
would be carried out aboad we would run the risk of
encountering multiple roadblocks...

In closing, I venture to say that the answer to Jean
Do's death lies calmly in the taped editorial that the
journalist was going to share with his fans...

I dare to share with you that my brother, Me. Geerard
Georges, who often engaged with Jean Do in ideological
debates was the first person to be accused of the
great journalist murder . In his own defense, he
intended, in his own word, "de faire parler le
cadavre" (to make the dead man speak...):

a) As a rule, Jean Do used to prepare his editorial
the night before playing it on the air on the next
day. What ever happened to that editorial?

b) With whom was the journalist the night before his
murder?

c) Anyone who is familiar with people and cars'
movements in Port-au-Prince during rush hour know how
tough it is to move from point A to point B. How
could both, president Préval and former president
Aristide, be at the hospital dressed up to the nines
and awaiting the arrival of Jean Do?

d) Has the biting journalist grown disillusioned with
the Preval-Aristide dictatorship and threatened to
reveal some dark secrets?

These are as many quetions that need to be answered!

If the international community truly wants to
establish the rule of Law in Haiti, having this trial
in a neutral location could be a great start.

Soon you will have the opportunity to read Me. Gérard
georges' analysis ... on the following website:
