#2874: Re: #2870: Reparations from France: Perrault comments

From: ange perrault <ange.perrault@mail.tju.edu>

Response to the issue of Reparation:

There is a difference between The money that Haiti gave France
and the wealth made from slavery on the back of African people.

The comment about giving back the money from Boyer was in response
to Chirac statement. Next he might say we never gave France any money.
That is not reparation, we paid France for its colony, now if Haiti was
never a french colony then we must be dumb for giving away money
(Sot ki bay, imbesil ki pa pran)

REPARATION is for slavery. If we are not careful the colonial powers
may deny that slavery ever took place or that we came willingly.

One thing living in the U.S. thought me:
Those who have suffered, remember the pain that was inflicted upon them
Those who have inflicted pain, deny it ever took place.

By the way did the Pope apoligized for the Role of the Church in the
enslavement of Africans? I did not hear it.
