Carine Fabius is the Toussaint L'ouverture of romantic irony. Readers won't stop laughing. Best Haitian revenge on the French since 1804.

KOURAJ PRESS ANNOUNCES NEW RELEASE

SEX, CHEESE AND FRENCH FRIES
Women Are Perfect, Men Are From France
BY CARINE FABIUS

AUGUST 2006, LOS ANGELES-This summer Kouraj Press releases SEX, CHEESE AND
FRENCH FRIES-Women are Perfect, Men are From France by Carine Fabius. Set
in Los Angeles, the book is a witty romp through relationships, using an
American woman's life with an irreverent Frenchman as premise.

"The book started out being an excuse to poke fun at the French," says
Haitian-American author Carine Fabius, "but it ended up being a humorous
look at the inner workings of a successful marriage, as well as the
challenges of a cross-cultural relationship." Her real-life French husband'
s perfect mangling of the English language inspired the author to keep a
notebook of his often-hysterical pronouncements-which led to the writing of
SEX, CHEESE AND FRENCH FRIES-all fiction, all fact. Loosely structured
around illustrative vignettes, each of the book's chapters looks at a
different aspect of life with a French husband, including sex, lifestyle,
raising children (or not), politics, language (or miscommunication squared),
and food ("[In Pierre's book,] garlic or onion bagels in the morning are for
sending people gagging to the toilet; no meal is complete without bread,
including pizza.").

Originally from Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Carine Fabius moved to New York at
the age of eight with her family. She is a twice-published author: MEHNDI,
the art of henna body painting (Random House) and Ceremonies for Real Life
(Council Oak Books). She lives in Hollywood, California. For more
