Most of the time for such technical terms, find the
French translation and you have your Creole word.  In
construction, the word is vilebrequin or coin (French)
and vilbreken or kwen (Creole).  In land survey, it is
borne (French) and bòn or born (Kreyol).  At least in
the Far West where I was born....

The real Haitian or Creole equivalent to cornerstone,
however,  is ?poto-mitan? (center post).

Different concepts, different culture.
