29452: Visiting Instructor Position in Haitian Creole (fwd)

Florida International University announces a Visiting Instructor position in Haitian Creole, renewable for up to three years, to begin January 2007. Position will be in the Modern Languages Department to teach Haitian Creole from beginning to intermediate levels. Teaching load will be two courses each fall and spring semester. Interest in Haitian Studies and/or ability to teach Haitian literature and culture is prefered. The successful candidate must have: native or near-native fluency in Haitian Creole fluency in all aspects of the language (reading, writing and speaking), completed master's degree, strong background in foreign language acquisition and/or linguistic theories and practices, and demonstrated success in teaching Haitian Creole. A master's degree or above is prefered in linguistics, second language acquisition, or related fields. Attach cover letter, curriculum vitae, and letters of recommendation.
