You want a democratic government, but you propose to gag the media...??

Preval must simply do better in the public relations department, something
all Haitian rulers have been abysmal at, usually because of the clueless
hangers-on and do-nothings that traditionally staff the information
ministry/department.

It was left to foreign white worshippers to publicise Aristide's
achievements (in their usual exaggerated, Stalinist and self-defeating
way). But Latortue never took much trouble to publicise his achievements
either. It doesn't look as if Préval is going to be any different, sadly.
Can't someone convince them of the importance of effectively advertising
their achievements to their electorate, of the importance of _information_?
Fortunately, the Haitian media is now one of the most vigorous in the
region, whether the government likes it or not.
