29695: Pilling: Resources for graduate school outside US? (fwd)

From: Sara Pilling <sara.pilling@verizon.net>

For the last 12 years, Scholarship Soley has provided financial resources to
support education for children from cite soleil . On average, weıve
supported about 60 children in each school year.

One of our students, a young man orphaned at age 5 and left in an orphanage,
came to our attention [age 12]by way of the Missionary Brothers of Charity.
There was/is an obvious Œsparkı to this young man and he will finish his
studies in Agronomy at the American University at Les Cayes in late
December. In 2005 he was chosen to go to ECHO for the summer; in Œ06 he was
invited to go through SIFATıs appropriate technology summer program.

He wants to attain an advanced degree in microbusiness development,
preferably in the US...but hereıs the rub. According to Homeland Securities
Œrulesı he, or his sponsors, HAVE to have in a bank account $33,000USD in
order to begin the Visa process. God only knows where weıll find that kind
of money.

So my question is this are there any programs in Cuba where he might get
advanced education that hopefully doesnıt have such a financial burden in
order to even try to get in?

Iıd appreciate any thoughts.
