I don't think that this history can addressed without the factor of the the fevers, perhaps mainly Yellow Jack, which downed many French troops. World history at the time would have a French total victory. What were the numbers/ percentage of the Europeans that went down to the fevers? The natives did not the command, comm, and control to deal with the French force.
