29910: From Raber88@zoominternet.net Job Needed (Inquiry) (fwd)

From: PM Raber <raber88@zoominternet.net>

Does anybody know of anyone needing a great Nanny or housekeeper? This lady had worked as a Nanny/housekeeper/cook at an NGO for almost 20 years. She is about 38 years old. Most of her employment years she was taking care of infants and children of foreigners but when there was no foreigners with small children she did many other jobs at the same location. She is honest, kind, is a good cook, a great house cleaner, she can bake bread, sweet rolls, cookies, cinnamon rolls, donuts etc... She is originally from Abricot outside of Jeremie. She live in Carrefour and has a husband and children. The NGO she worked for has been transfering more management to locals over the past 6 years. With this has come the usual hiring of every relative until they could no longer make payroll. She was just let go while the guy whose job description is to run the photocopyer (the same copier that has been broken for 10 months) still has a job. . Her husband is a metal worker who lost his job 6 years ago when the iron-work factory he had worked at for 11 years closed for the same reasons many factories have been closing.

She loves children and actually gets down on her hands and knees to play with them. She does not just "watch" the kids. She loves them and is very kind and clean. she provides good discipline and good habits to children. Her only disadvantage is that she cannot read and write. She has tried to learn as a adult but has given up every time. She lives in the Waney area of Carrefour. She has been used to work with regular daytime hours where she goes home to her family at the end of the day. However, last I heard she was thinking of trying to cross the border into the Dominican trying to get employement so I think she would be open to any work arrangement where she gets fair pay and where someone would RESPECT her and the quality work she provides. If she would have to travel a long way, she would most likely agree to stay overnight weekdays as long as she could go home weekends. She may also be open to work with people outside of Haiti. People with the right contacts seem to be able to arrange for such things. At this point things are pretty desperate and jobs are impossible to find. If anyone has any leads, reply directly to me: raber88@zoominternet.net
