Emmanuelle,
You cannot correct a historical truth, namely, that the workers,
the peasants, and the toiling masses in their autonomous democratic struggles
are the key, the creators, and the makers of the future life of abundance in
Haiti. Only the popular masses can solve the structural crisis in Haiti. They
have to seize the time, and seize the moment to do it.The political decision
makers are not working in the interests of the masses. The bourgeois and
imperialists are exploiting the workers and creating a himalaya's worth of poverty
and other crimes in Haiti. That's the truth on the ground. This is something
neither your opinion nor mine can change at all. If anyone can't see that, it's
really unfortunate.
Allow me to say that you are definitely wrong about your characterization
of the Haitian People who to me are a very peaceful people, and even too
peaceful to deal with the violence they are subjected to by the imperialists and
the bourgeois. Those who kill are armed and paid by the bourgeois, the
imperialists and the lavalas Gran Manje (lavalas Big Eaters). Aristide did become an
autocrat and bourgeois also. You cannot blame the beautiful hard-working
Haitian Popular Masses for the reactionaries' centuries-old bankrupt system of
exploitation of Humanity.
You are right, though, presidents and government officials have always
defended the interests of the bourgeois and the imperialists and deny the
popular masses any democratic rights to a decent life. I also agree that we have to
use our brains to become self-sufficient and fight against foreign
interference in our internal business. It is true that the country must invest in our
children as the future of our civilisation.
M. Pierre
