Community Forum on Youth Violence

Haitian-American Youth, From Model Students to Violent Urban Youth: A Community 
Dialogue



In response to the wave of gang violence affecting South Florida’s Haitian 
Community, the Haitian Neighborhood Center, Sant La, Little Haiti Housing 
Association, FANM, PanZOu, Little Haiti NET, HAVCEC, HACCOF and other community 
partners  are organizing a Community Action Forum whose main focus will be to 
seek greater understanding of the problem and offer recommendations.  The 
objective of this forum is to create a profile of our youth to understand 
his/her environment, and to propose culturally relevant and practical 
recommendations. Additionally, participants will create a blueprint of action 
goals to address these critical issues.



The Community Action Forum will be held at:


North Miami Elementary School

655 NE 145 Street •North Miami, FL 33161



Saturday, February 10th, 2007



Breakfast and Registration – 8:30 am

Discussion Sessions 9:00 am to 2:30 pm

(Sessions will begin promptly at 9 am)

Participants will include parents, youth, members of the clergy, law 
enforcement, and concerned stakeholders.
