30241: Morse; Rumors from the Red Zone (fwd)

Rumors have it that there will be a visit by President Bush to Haiti in the upcoming weeks. When I watched his visits to Brazil and Mexico I wondered why he hadn't visited Haiti yet, Haiti being what it is.

In terms of foreign policy, the biggest difference between Iraq and Haiti is that, in Haiti, Washington wasn't afraid to delegate. Here we have Haitians, Brazilians, French, Chileans, Canadians, Argentinians, Americans, Chinese, Tiawanese, Jordanians, Mexicans, Cubans, along with people from Cameroon, Benin and Guinen all working towards some common goals.

In Iraq, Washington has tried to micro manage the whole affair, their goals never being that clear.

Too many cultural, social and religious considerations for a country to try and go it alone in the world. In that past, there wasn't instant media so countries could do things that they just can't get away with nowadays. For instance, Haiti used to be populated by Arawaks, Tainos and Caribes.

But on the other hand, I'm just a musician, so what do I really know?
