6036: Reform schools in Haiti? (fwd)

From: Elizabeth McAlister <emcalister@mail.wesleyan.edu>

I am writing today to ask the members' help. Does anybody on the list know
of boarding schools or reform schools in Haiti? A young Haitian teen who
is very special to me has gotten into serious trouble with gangs in the
neighborhood in New York. The family of this teen is considering sending
the teen "back" to Haiti. Are there any such schools for paying djaspora
in operation? Any that are recommended? Has anybody on the list actually
seen a positive outcome from sending troubled youth "home?"

Please reply to me at EMcAlister@Wesleyan.edu and thanks in advance.

Liza McAlister
