Here is a question - given that the right wing and the OAS and CLED every
Tom, Dick and Harry are so fired up over the legislative elections, and given
that free and fair elections will inevitably return the very same party to
power, what is the point?

What do they hope to accomplish by all of this? What has Aristide done since
returning to the National Palace that they find so threatening, in material
terms? Why is this so all-important to them? They are making more noise
over a few irregularities in an election than they did over a freakin' coup
d'etat that killed thousands! And for all that, I don't see Aristide really
changing the status quo that much, he hasn't nationalized foreign assets, for
example, he hasn't slapped big import duties on Miami rice and made a
significant effort to promote rice growing in the Artibonie...Can these folks
really believe that thier lives depend on paying Haitians poverty wages in
the few factories operating in Port-au-Prince? Or what is it?

Peace and love,
