8956: Haitian products penetrate U.S. yard sales (fwd)

rummaging through some old electrical parts at a yard sale here in New
England yesterday, I found a brass lamp socket and switch with "made in
Haiti" stamped on it.  if readers want to send me other similarly-labeled
items they run across, there might be enough for an educational
exhibit that reconstructed, explained and located Haiti's industrial
history...clothing, appliance parts, sports equipment, rope, etc.

being that the annual Haitian Studies Conference is in Burlington later
this fall, such an exhibit might help provoke some discussion and
possibilities.
