13276: Higbee Hospital Albert Schweitzer (fwd)

From: Joan F Higbee <jhig@loc.gov>

On May 22, 2002, The Hispanic Division of The Library of Congress
presented the symposium "Reverence for Life: Hospital Albert Schweitzer
and the People Haiti>. A cybercast of the program has just been made
available through The Hispanic Division home page at
<http://www.loc.gov/rr/hispanic/>. The symposium focused upon the
history of the Hospital since its inception. It served to identify-- to
a broad audience and through presentations by speakers directly involved
in the process--critical elements leading to the long-term success of
the institution. The symposium made it possible to record and preserve
for the future an important oral history. We hope members of The List
will enjoy listening to the remarkable speakers who made the event
possible.
