Haitian Community Relations in Atlanta

Mission Statement

The Purpose of the Haitian Community Relation in Metro
Atlanta is to enhance the political stance of the
Haitian Community, to preserve our heritage and values
and to promote the physical well being of the Haitian
Community. The HCR will accomplish this by providing
social, cultural, educational, and recreational
program to all age groups.

Activities:
Traditional Haitian Day
Lakay: Haitian and French movies, Haitian plays or
Comedy
Guest Speakers from Haiti and other countries
Haitian Art exhibits with opening receptions
Concerts and recital
Promoting young Haitian artists and writers
Creole and French Book Club as well as poetry
Trips to Haiti and French-Speaking countries and the
Caribbean
Social Activities
Limited Sport Activities
Teaching Haitian Creole from complete beginners
Teaching French from complete beginners
Teaching Haitian History and Literature
Teaching ESOL and G.E.D.  Courses
Computer Literacy
Voter’s education
