18846: Arthur: Radio Metropole outed by mainstream media (at last) (fwd)

From: Tttnhm@aol.com

Charles Arthur writes:

Amidst all this carnage and reactionary shite, I am pleased to report a very,
very minor victory.

Today, Thursday February 19, 2004, in the British Guardian newspaper, in an
article headed, "Rebels cut off Haiti's second city", we read the following
phrase:

"Radio Metropole, a station sympathetic to opponents of Mr Aristide,
reported......."

Will this go down in the sub-footnotes of history, as the first time that the
mainstream media anywhere has described Radio Metropole as what it really is,
instead of the usual absurd description: "independent"?
