Esser is disappointed in my take on Kurzban, what a surprise!  Esser apparently believes that Kurzban’s tireless promotion of Aristide, and the $1 million fee Kurzban collects from Haiti’s meager treasury, are unrelated.  Would that be because Kurzban doesn’t care about money (!), or that for him $1 million is a drop in the bucket?  Who knows?  Who cares?  I wonder how many trees that $1 million would plant in desert-like Haiti?  How many children it would send to school?  Ditto the $9 millions spent on Aristide’s private security.  Maybe that was Baby Doc’s problem: he didn’t have a detachment of high-class US mercenaries to promote his image and to protect his worthless hide. (Oops, I almost forgot about Ron Brown.)

Tell me, Esser, do you deny that Aristide has used the country's money to hire a bunch of mercenaries, some as bodyguards, some as lobbyists, for his own personal service?  I call that corruption and mismanagement.  What do you call it?

On the bright side, Mr. Esser is “really starting to learn how to appreciate my thoughtful posts.”  O joy! O triumph!  You reckon maybe I ought to “really start to learn” to take his objections more seriously?
