From: Tttnhm@aol.com

-- The Daily Herald on 27 June reports that security forces on 26 June
rescued 23 female and 35 male Haitians, two crew members, and two individuals
believed to be from the Dominican Republic, who were on board a boat and who were
allegedly being smuggled from Dominica to Sint Maarten. The Herald reports that
one of the female passengers used a cell phone to call for help after the boat
started taking on water about 40 miles from Sint Maarten and after the
captain abandoned ship in a rubber dinghy. The Herald says the passengers and crew
were rescued, placed on several buses at the harbor, and transported to the
Philipsburg police station. The report adds that the boat captain and one crew
member, both of whom are Antiguan, are also in police custody. [Philipsburg The
