Nations Unies pour Stabiliser Haïti (MINUSTAH), Sophie Bouteau Delacombe, a 
informé jeudi que l'Université de Tabarre (nord de la capitale), occupée depuis 
l'installation du régime intérimaire de Gérard Latortue (mars 2004) par des 
soldats onusiens, est désormais disponible pour ses propriétaires.
L'Université de Tabarre est la proprriété de la Fondation Aristide pour la 
démocratie.
La MINUSTAH avait été sevèrement critiquée pour avoir pris possession de cette 
institution, contraignant des centaines de jeunes qui étudiaient notamment la 
médecine à abandonnner leurs études.
Les soldats onusient étaient alors accusés de fermer des écoles pour ouvrir des 
casernes dans un pays où il manque cruellement d'institutions scolaires.
Les responsables de la Mission avaient rétorqué, affirmant que c'est le regime 
en place qui leur avait offert ce batiment pour installer leurs soldats.
Les étudiants en médecine allaient être reçus à Cuba pour poursuivre leurs 
études.
Mme Delacombe a fait savoir que quelques soldats de l'ONU vont rester dans le 
local en attendant qu'il soit récupéré.
Elle en a profité pour faire savoir que pendant l'occupation de l'université de 
nombreux travaux y ont été effectués notamment l'installation de l'internet.
