30671: Labrom re Rabies and Swine fever (fwd)

Someone has been telling me that there is an epidemic of both Rabies
and Swine Fever out in the countryside around Haiti. They say that
no-one is mentioning it or knows about it in Port-au-Prince, but out
in the country it's all the talk!!

Has anyone out in the countryside heard anything and has there been
any mention on radio or TV?

They both are quite dangerous both personally and economically.
