All previous studies indicate that there are no oil or uranium resources in
Haiti.  Haiti does have great potential for solar, wind and hydro-electric
energy. The increased cost and diminishing supplies of gas and oil will only
exacerbate the destruction of Haiti's remaining forests and bio-mass for fuel
and
charcoal and its trade deficit.
