HAITIAN HERITAGE MONTH EVENTS




Here are some of the Haitian Heritage Month events planned by Miami and

• Culture Book Signing: Featuring Antoiny Hattenback; 7 p.m. Sunday; Librerie 
Mapou, 5919 NE Second Ave.

• Flag Day Reception: 6 p.m. May 18; J.J. Dessaline Center, 8325 NE Second Ave.

• Caribbean Flavors Street Festival: 3 to 9 p.m. May 13; Freedom Garden, 6135 
N. Miami Ave.

• Documentary Screening: Sove Nou, narrated by Danny Glover; 7 p.m. May 19; 
Moore Building, 191 NE 40th St.

• Toussaint Louverture Little Haiti Parade and Birthday Celebration: May 20; 
parade 9 a.m. to noon along Northeast Second Avenue, starting at 56th Street 
and ending at 62nd Street, where the birthday celebration will run until 4 p.m.
